Spirotechnics are created by Paul Wintz, a graduate student in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The animations are generated by a program written in Java using the Processing library.

As mentioned in a previous post, I'm now focusing on creating and sharing animations on Patreon where the file size limit is much larger. (And I get paid for my work!) If you want to see new animations weekly, follow me there for $1 per month.

I'll keep posting here occasionally, but updates will be sporadic—limited to when I happen to make a new animation that's under Tumblr's 10 MB limit.

Hello everybody! I have an update to my plans for this blog. Previously, I've made two versions of most animations: one version to post to Patreon (that is high resolution and high frame rate) and a second version that fits into Tumblr's file size limits (with lower quality). This is time-consuming and limits how many animations I make.

From now on I plan to focus on creating animations for Patreon. If any new animations happen to be small enough for Tumblr, I will also share them here, but updates will be less frequent. If you enjoy Spyrotechnics, you can see all of my animations on Patreon for $1 per month by signing up here.

Thank you all for your support!
